 | paper machineCode : 120927this paper machine, manufactured by bertrams, was relocated from dalmore mill in 2004 and during this time it was fully overhauled and many improvements were made to the machine. the drive is on the right from the flowbox, making plain woves, deep colours, facing papers, text and cover grades, watermarks, felt marked papers, artists’ papers. we have a production table for grammages and grades produced and this is available on request. trim at deckle is 1200mm to 1320mm, minimum deckle 900mm, minimum 70 gsm and maximum 400 gsm, speed 15 to 74 m/min and production average 0.5 t/hr.

stainless steel esher wyess pulper, batch operation, volume 12 m³, running at 6% consistency.
water tank stainless steel volume 16 m³.
stock chest stainless steel number one running at 3% consistency, volume 16 m³ with side entry agitator.

refining is by beloit 16” dd refiner and the trim refiner is a jcoo.
machine screen is a beloit bird model 6 pressure screen with perforated baskets with 0.062” holes. v. belt drive.
l.d cleaners: three stage with fibre saver, stainless steel bodies with polyethylene nozzles.
wire section
pressure flowbox by holders , ten slice adjusters, slice width 1510mm, knock down wire frame with new stainless table, stainless frame, foil forming board with polyethylene tops, four stainless foil units johnson, two of the foil units are vacuum assisted and are complete with silencers, total of 5 suction boxes, dandy support extended to take larger width
dandies, plain couch and thune automatic wire guide. sheet transfer is by a baggley box. breast roll to couch centres: 10m.
wire width 1600mm, wire length 18.8 m.
press sections
two presses with pneumatic loading, face 1540mm, roll diameters 410mm.
first dryer section
total of nine dryers, face width 1530mm including rope rings, diameter 1220mm, operating pressure 20psi, rope feed , brass bearings , manual lubrication, bolted cylinder ends and thune automatic guides. dryers are open gear drive.
size press
inclined size press, pneumatic loaded, roll face width 1430mm and diameter 410mm. screen with pumps and tanks at rear of machine.
second dryer section
four drying cylinders as first section.
calender
two roll calender with a single bottom kuster roll, a/f bearings, hydraulic loaded, roll and face 1500mm.
colour head for colour measurement.
lippke head measuring basis weight, moisture and ash.
colour head and associated controls.
tusa tape paper transfer system on to drum reel.
voith horizontal reel up with pneumatic operation. maximum roll diameter 1500mm.
machine drive is sectional electric eurotherm manufacture, installed 1999.
vacuum system comprises two nash cl401, saffem 701 and a drysdale 3va. all pumps complete with separator and silencer.
