hfo, 428 rpm, turbocharged & intercoled with air compressor starting system driving 14,460 kva siemens generators, 50 hz, 11,000 volt, 0.80 pf. built in 1992 with between 30,000 and 40,000 total operated hours. last overhauled in 2008 with very few hours since overhaul. this is a complete power plant with controls, lube oil system, fuel handling system, air intake system, cooling system and exhaust system. an 11 kv switch panel is also included. manuals, operating records and maintenance records are available at the site.

introduction
this proposal is relevant to sell of (13) x 11.786 mw (gross, iso) diesel power plant consisting of
13 pieces. of wartsila 18v38b engines complete with all the auxiliaries, sold on “as is” basis or
including dismantling, marking, packing and delivering to nearest port at fas (free alongside ship)
basis.
the main equipment will be dismantled and transported from existing diesel power plant.
said power plant was established on boo (built, operate and own) basis and started to commercial
operation in march 2002. then, it has been operated at full load for approximately 1 year. after then
the official electricity generation authority directed client to operate plant at reduced generation
capacity.
at this moment the diesel power plant is fully operational in good condition and when necessary it
can be visited upon request.
technical specifications in the following sections of this proposal provides the purchaser with
basic technical data and information required for evaluation of plant’s technical features.
the proposed type of power plant was designed for base load application for utilizing hfo (heavy
fuel oil) as the main fuel with lfo (light fuel oil) for cold start-up and before maintenance work.
the drawings and documentation produced for construction of existing power plant can be utilized
for construction of the new plant by adaptation and modifications if necessary.
documentation are ready o the purchaser if requested.

the engine is designed for continuous heavy fuel duty and can be started and stopped on heavy fuel
oil (hfo) provided that the fuel is heated to operating temperature.
the system is designed for a fuel viscosity of 730 cst/50 c.
the heavy fuel oil system (fuel oil no: 6) is the main fuel system.
the engines can be started and stopped at heavy fuel, provided that operation temperature is
maintained. however, it is necessary to use light fuel oil for cold starts.
fuel oil system
the wartsila v38b engine is designed for continuous and correct operation on hfo as well as lfo.
a preheated engine can be started directly on hfo provided that the external fuel system has the
correct temperature and pressure.
the engine can also be stopped on hfo although the external system has to stay in operation i.e. fuel
must be circulated through the stopped engine continuously for heating purposes.
the internal fuel system mainly comprises but not limited to the following equipment:
�� low pressure pipes made of steel
�� high pressure pipes, double wall with common leak alarm
�� injection pumps, individual for each cylinder
�� fuel injector in each cylinder
�� fuel oil pressure regulating valve
for one engine generator set:
required fuel oil # 6 for 1 kwh : 205,1 grams
gross power : 11.075 kwh (at current site conditions and new output is subject to new location)
fuel oil# 6 amount for one day per engine at current power plant : 205,1 x 11.075 x 24 hr /(1000 x
1000) = 54.5 ton / day
